OBJECTIVES To associate together persons engaged in the enforcement of criminal laws within the State of Idaho. To encourage cooperation between the various law enforcement agencies within the State of Idaho. To professionalize the personnel and membership of this association inspiring a just pride in their work, and by promoting and sponsoring adequate educational and training programs beneficial to the association membership and citizens of the State of Idaho. To reduce crime and to work for and promote the due administration of justice. To promote statewide interest and participation in law enforcement Legislative matters. MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS 1. Quarterly Magazine 2. $10,000.00 Accidental Life Insurance. 3. Discount auto and home insurance with A+ Auto & Home Insurance Plus (Managed by California Casualty Co.) CONTRIBUTIONS IPOA has contributed to: food baskets for the holidays throughout the state; Shop With A Cop in the Pocatello area; Bicycle helmets for youths at Bicycle rodeos through the State; Child car seats for needy parents; College scholarships for children of IPOA member; Special Olympics Torch Run sponsor; disabled officers; survivors of slain officers; Idaho Youth Ranch; M.A.D.D.; Make A Wish; Safe Kids=Safe Guns; C.R.A.S.H.; and many others. IPOA hosts an annual training seminar, and other training sessions during the year. Provides a legislative liaison or lobbyist to keep members informed of law enforcement legislative matters.
This organization consists of a membership which includes the following: Sheriffs, Deputy Sheriffs, Chiefs of Police, City Officers, Marshals, State Law Enforcement Officers, Prosecuting Attorneys, Judges, Special Railway Agents, and Federal Officers whose duties in whole or in part consist of law enforcement in the State of Idaho. Any other person who is affiliated with the Idaho Peace Officers Association and the spouse of any member.
